What is the differences between One-Way and Two-Way Satellite Services?
A common misconception is that the Two-Way systems are faster but in fact they are not.  When you integrate a dial-up and satellite connection you create a quicker data path from your computer... out to the Internet... and back to your computer.
Cost:
The One-Way satellite is about 1/3 of the cost of Two-Way systems.
Contracts: None.  We require No Contracts while the Two-Way systems require 12 - 36 month contracts.
Quickness: The One-Way satellite response time is quicker and more dependable than the Two-Way systems.  It does not experience the same lag-time, Latency, or Ping delays caused by the "two-way" approach of uploading Internet requests back up to the satellite.
Redundancy: In the event that a signal is lost, for whatever reason, you will not lose connectivity like the Two-Way systems.  You will still be able to connect through our dial-up connection.

What are your Upload and Download Speeds?
Your Upload requests go through your 56Kbs dial-up modem but your Web Pages, Emails, Upgrades, Games, and File Downloads will be BLASTED back to you at 512Kbs.

Why would I want to use my phone line?    Satellite users have two choices...
1 - You can communicate to the Internet through a Two-Way Satellite-Only system which is a much slower responding and costlier process.
2 - Or you can combine the Satellite and Dial-up communications to create a much quicker responding Internet experience. Our service responds Quicker, Cost Less, and requires No Contract as opposed to the Two-way Satellite services.

Can I network several computers so that they share the High Speed connection?
Yes... you can setup a wired, wireless, or combination network with Windows XP or above.  The Satellite computer becomes the Gateway to the Internet.  As long as it is connected and online then your other computers can be configured to share the High Speed connection.  Computers that are connected by "Wire" will have a faster connection than computers connected to the network "Wirelessly". We offer instructions on how to share the High Speed connections through your network but do not offer technical support for your network.

Will I need to purchase an extra phone line?
Our system does use your phone line but contrary to what the Cable and DSL companies will lead you to believe... unless you are needing to make calls while you are online then there is no need to purchase a dedicated or second phone line.  Our system shares your phone line... saving you money while giving you High Speed. Below are two solutions that allow family and friends to get through to you which is what most people are concerned most about.  Either solution will work but we prefer using the Callwave service because it offers Caller ID, allowing you to better decide if you need to disconnect and accept the incoming call plus you can accept faxes without a fax machine.

How is Satellite Internet affected by weather conditions?
Weather can affect the signal at both the end user and teleport uplink locations.  We use a slightly larger dish than the Satellite TV services which makes it more dependable through storms, wind and cloudy days/nights.  The nice thing about our system is that if for whatever reason the signal is lost you can easily toggle the Satellite off and use the dial-up service until the signal is restored.

Can I use my current TV Dish?
Unfortunately No.  We use a different frequency pointed to different satellites.

What if DogLegs.com can't offer the dial-up connection in my area?
We offer thousands of local numbers across the US but there are still a few places that we just can't service.  You can add our High Speed Satellite to the dial-up service of your choice (except AOL) and we will deduct $7 from your monthly service plan.

Another option would be to use a Long Distance service that offers Unlimited calling.  Although many long distance services frown upon their service being used to dial in to the Internet, we can provide you with a whole list of access numbers.  This would allow you to rotate your calling patterns which should help to avoid triggering their "usage abuse" filters.

I am happy with my current dial-up service... do I have to give them up?
No... not at all.   Our pricing includes our dial-up services but if you would prefer to use your own dialup service then we can still add our High Speed Satellite service (except AOL) and we will deduct $7 from your monthly service plan.

Do you offer a Money Back Guarantee?
Yes... if you are not completely satisfied with your system simply call us within 30 Days of your purchase and we will refund your equipment less a 15% restocking fee.  A $20 connection fee will be assessed and deducted from total refund amount if your account shows over 5MB of Satellite usage.  Installation and shipping fees are non-refundable.  Your account will be refunded upon receiving the equipment back in good working condition.

I live several months in NY and several months in AZ... Is it possible to have this system in more than one location?
Yes... although we would suggest that you install dishes at each location to avoid the need to remount and realign your dish each time you move but that would be your choice.

Are there any hidden fees?
Nope... unlike Cable and DSL services we won't rack up your bill with hidden taxes and franchise fees like unnecessary FUSF cost recovery fees.  You will see no additional charges.

Can I use this system and log in to a VPN server?  (corporate users)
Unfortunately no... we will continue to work on a solution but have found that many of the VPN software used by corporations are proprietary and simply cannot be adjusted to work with a Satellite system.

I travel the country in an RV... can I use this system for High Speed Internet?
Technically yes... but it may be more of a hassle than it's worth.  In order for our service to work you would need to have access to phone services along with a local dial-up number (we have thousands) you would also need to realign the dish at each location.
